As President and sole owner of Allegro Custom Homes, Inc., a custom homebuilding company and President and owner of A-Com, a commercial general contracting firm, Heather Perry has over six years experience in the construction industry.  In that time, Heather and her husband, Matt, who shares her “relationship-based” approach to business, have completed numerous residential and commercial contracts.   She has been appointed three years in a row to the Board of Directors of the Greater Des Moines Homebuilders Association, currently sits as the chair to the Builders Committee, and is an alternate director to the Iowa and National Association of Homebuilders.  Dedicated to her industry’s future, Heather is an active member of the Homebuilders Government Affairs committee (it’s a watchdog kind of thing), and a member of the Builder Advisory Council for the local green-building group, COSC (a conglomerate of earth-loving, energy-saving, non-partisan, builder-types).  A vital component to Heather’s success in the construction industry has been her enthusiasm for education – this can be seen in her commitment to earning her Certified Graduate Builder designation as well as the Certified Green Building Professional designation. 

Heather is known for her intriguing home designs and attention to details.  Her approach to custom building speaks genuinely to the home buyer’s culture and traditions, and not to her own personal style.  “I believe that we need to re-think the way we live in our houses.  I want your HOME to be designed around your LIFESTYLE, not vice-versa.  I see so many people paying for rooms and features they’ll never use because they simply don’t live ‘that’ way.  Your home should be as comfy as your old baseball cap, yet as unique as your fingerprint.  If your personality is full of angles and color, your house should be too.  Very few people are square and beige.”       

Strangely enough, Heather holds a BA & MA in Biology from Drake University, as well as a Post-Graduate Degree in Secondary Education.  Heather was born in Missouri and was raised in Kansas before moving to Iowa, where she attended Lincoln High School on the south side of Des Moines.  She currently resides in the country with her husband and their numerous furry friends.
